iPhone programming languages?
What languages are able to be used to program an application for the iPhone? I know that Java and Flash are not supported, but can you develop an application in PHP, ROR, etc? Any resource links would be great!
Sorry – looks like I need to add more details.
Yes, I am looking to develop an app for the app store. I know about the SDK, etc. What the app needs to do is communicate w/ my servers to receive real time information updates.
I am wondering what languages would be compatible with the iPhone environment to transmit information and have it be read by the app on the phone.
Thanks!
If I understand your question right. You want to write iphone applications,
iPhone has its own SDK (Software Development Kit)
To do use it you will need to be part of iPhone Developer Program. http://developer.apple.com/iphone/program/
